Drug Abuse Treatment Options and Help

Drug Abuse TreatmentToday, most of society accepts that drug abuse treatment is no longer the treatment of an addict, rather it is the treatment of a patient who is suffering from an addiction.  For many years addicts suffered with two kinds of challenges. The first was the addiction itself, and the second was the social stigma that they faced for being an addict. Society, fundamentally, considers addiction to be a weakness instead of what it is, which is a disease. Luckily, today we know that addiction is a disease, and as such it is treatable. Unfortunately, it is not an easily treatable disease but the important thing to know is that with the right programs there is a way to detoxify.  The first and most important step to any cure is to accept that a disease is present. As we advance into modern society more and more, we find that socially people have accepted this disease, which has resulted in everyone, including the addicts themselves, beginning to think of themselves as a patient who can receive medical care. This shift in attitude allows for a removal of guilt, and addicts can treat themselves like a patient that needs the doctors to "cure" them. In this case, the cure is getting and staying, clean.

If You Are an Addict, We Can Help You

By treating patients in our drug abuse treatment programs with a level of dignity and respect which they have often not had, since they became addicts, we are able to personalize the care so that the patient no longer feels like they are an addict, and tend to be more enthusiastic to seek out the treatment that they need.  One of the areas that we are most proud of is our outpatient service that we offer to patients due to the advances in detoxification methods, such as the use of Suboxone. We provide these services to all patients who want to detoxify while they are still being productive members of society. This is extremely transparent to the patient's employment. What this means is that the patient can continue to work while they are going through the detoxification methods we prescribed, which allows them to continue to feel as though they are part of society.  Removing the stigma, we have found often helps a patient to heal faster, and get clean in a more efficient manner. This also helps with people not having to make  a very life-changing transition from being a drug abuser to being a clean and sober member of society. By making sure that the transition is slow and deliberate, or in the case of the outpatient is ongoing, we're sure that there's no shock to the system that may lead a patient to seek out the comfort that they did in the past.

Overall, we understand that drug abuse treatment is more than just treating a disease.  It is about helping a person overcome their addiction, the disease, and become a productive member of society that can hold their head up high and walk with pride wherever they go. As a result, the best drug abuse treatment programs are designed to help people accomplish this.

If you are an addict or know someone who is, call and schedule a consultation to discuss our program.
